Xanita 3, FINAL!

Xeethat chair with branding

Locking system with remove half of the part and fit to another

This is the system that I changed from the second model, instead of remove the material which causing weak point, I make a groove so then the hands will sit underneath the slot, The disadvantage of this system is really hard to get accurate angle.

The Grove and tabs will make the chair legs sit on place

This joining method create a really neat and clean closing

The flat pattern is not different from previous model

To do the final model actually take half of the time of the previous one. I learn and get used to with the material from doing two times model. The important thing is that the dimension of the slot has to be accurate

Folding Method

Flat Pattern

The second model was actually work except one of the joining method on the back. It tears the material off. And also some cuts are not execute neatly. 1mm bigger size is affecting the whole joining system. This make me have to make the third model.

Design Refinement

I have to test the locking, make sure they will works on my last Xanita board

Making Xanita1

Burn Mark from laser cutting

flat pattern

Material ripped off

Still having tape to join some parts

This is the first Xanita board model that I made. It was cut by laser cutting. It leave burn marks arround the edges. Furthermore, the problems start to come up, the strength of the material become another issues of applying some of my locking systems. One of them is because of the system is located to close to the edge. The pressure rip off the thin layer of material on the top.
